MMINC – My Mind Is Not Correct – is an artist run event series and record label based in the Blue Mountains on unceded Dharug and Gundungurra country. With an exclusive focus on diverse and nonconforming local, emerging and visiting performers and a faultless eye for unique audio-visual curation, MMINC’s Brett Thompson (Dream Alley Dream) and Brooke Olsen (Ears Have Ears) will continue to surprise audiences.
Dr. Jacob Ross, founder of Coherent Entertainment, draws on his deep knowledge of laser technology from years of research in the fields of experimental quantum physics and robotics, creating large-scale data-driven installations. For this collaboration with Jan M. Walter, director of SIRC_UIT, a single light source illuminates 15 freely movable refractive elements, creating endlessly evolving, effectively infinitely detailed ephemera. The custom hardware modules of this immersive installation are hidden behind an undulating and textured canvas sail, suspended across a 10x10m space above the audience. Precise engineering yields naturalistic caustics in this interactive work called ‘Point Source’.
